Christensen Halloween and my Skely face

Let me set the scene.... Fly home from the worlds best vay-cay at 11pm with 2 fussy babes and even fussier parents-Wake up the next morning only to realize you have the annual family Halloween party to attend, queso to whip up, and brothers mission call opening all within the next 8 hours. (ps..Guadalajara, Mexico mission, leaving mid March---we're so happy and proud of you, LANDON!)

We have no costumes...We have no ingredients for dip...All we have is jetlag.

Thank goodness for Cody going the mountain man rendezvous every year, because
Mr. Christensens threw his garb on, painted his face blue, and became the best William Wallace I've ever seen.

The girls were easy, too. We loaned costumes from my mom who's saved every damn costume weve ever worn throughout the years...My little sister was Alice in wonderland a few wars back and I was a baby cowgirl way back in the 80's. They were SO cute.

Then there's me. I have nothing.... Nothin but eyeliner....and white face paint.....and YouTube.

Bingo!

I don't know how we pulled it off, but we did.

I'm linking the tutorial I watched to do my makeup for anyone who wants to try it out for tomorrow. It was actually really easy....I used her basic outline then elaborated a bit.

When I'm not making a skinny cocktail, you can find me blogging, teaching Pilates, or reading. 
 My blog, The Skinny Confidential, is all about having your cake and eating it too! I don't believe in a diet, but a lifestyle. Think recipe modifications, accessible fitness tips, & healthy weight-loss tricks...but in a fun, girly, witty way.

I'm a FitFluential ambassador, actively involved with the Yellow Ribbon Program, & currently a "practicing vegan" 80 percent of the time ; ). 
I love being at home with my babe, spooning my chihuahua, chopping veggies, & getting real creepily deep into TiVo. 

SEE! She's adorable, right!? I couldn't be happier to pair up with such an amazing and truly informative woman.

Video time!

I found this little edit my brother in law, Landon, made from awhile back and I melted. He is the master behind Zuri's People Water video too...I guess what I'm saying is that he's good. Realll good.

But this one, in particular, makes me want to sell everything I own, buy a boat, and live off the shore of some lake in a tent with my husb + two lovely ladies and friends.

Who needs work and bathrooms, anyways?

We're off!

We've finally made it to Florida where the whole Christensen family is spending the next 7 days in blissful beach heaven...

Getting here with 8 adults and 4 babies was quite the experience, but maybe I'll save that for an entirely new post, because right now I wanna talk SMALL FRY!

The girls over at Small Fry are doing some pretty cool stuff, to say they least, so I was SO excited when they sent over some interview questions for Zuzu monster to answer, and did a quick photo shoot of her, too.

 I'm giving you a sneak peek, but you'll have to go to their blog to see the rest!  I'll let you all know when its up...

The awful moment when...

...When you've actually succumbed into climbing in the bath tub, fully clothed, to wrestle your tantrum throwing 4 year old into washing the conditioner out of her hair....then you hear something.

Sounds like sanding.

"What is that?" you ask yourself.

You, then, look over to see your barely one year old holding onto the side of the tub, grinding her teeth off with a foot file. 

Little white teeth grindings smear the black emery board file, making it look gray.

Hopefully she'll be one of those kids who lose their baby teeth early.

Early awakenings...

I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to bed.

I went into the kitchen and decided to start a pot roast for dinner....from there, things got a bit out of the ordinary for me.

I made a batch of quinoa for breakfast while simultaneously scrubbing and peeling all my new, freshly picked garden veggies....

Never, have I ever, eaten quinoa for breakfast.

Then I decided to juice.

Beets and carrots....

At 5 am? The neighbors, surely, love me.

The next idea that suddenly popped into my head was that I should chug 40 oz of water...

I wandered back to bed after cleaning up and drowning my belly in h2o, and found myself reading my own blog.

I do this every so often.

What did I realize this time from reading my own blog posts? (Because I do learn something each time I read one of my post...) DON'T BLOG FROM YOUR i PHONE!!!

I feel that I have a pretty consistent voice in my ramblings on here....really, I can almost hear myself talk when I read what I write. But without fail, each blog I've ever written on my I phone is choppy with random punctuation, random capitalizations, and typos galore....and my thoughts are never laid out how nice and neatly they are stored in my brain.

...Don't even get me started on all the auto corrections.

Ewwww. I'm cringing.

So. From here on out, I vow to never blog from this damned device again.

Lap tops are the only way to go.

.... Maybe I'll make an exception only on cold fall mornings like this, when I'm comfy and cozy snuggled in bed....
